Weight loss can be a challenging time for anyone who wishes to lose weight. It is a time when your patience, dedication, and willpower are put to the test. Although weight loss can be a challenging time, it’s possible to get to your desired weight or size.
If you really want to see a change you have to look at all the aspects of your lifestyle. Most importantly though, you have to see how you can improve your lifestyle if it has gone down an unhealthy path.
The first thing we tend to do when trying to change our unhealthy ways is by cutting out all the bad things that we have been doing and eating that has caused us to gain weight. However, by going cold turkey on the foods we see as unhealthy, we tend to crave them more than ever!
You can only last for so long before you fall off track and eat all those unhealthy foods you cut out of your diet. Or if you have dedicated a day out of the month as your “cheat day” you can go crazy by binge eating all those sweet, but sinful foods.
Not everybody has the strong willpower to resist and deprive ourselves of indulging our favorite foods. Sure, we might know that it is unhealthy to eat, but frankly, after depriving ourselves for so long that first bite can taste like the best thing in the world. Cloudy our minds with the fact that it’s unhealthy for us and our diet.
But, what if I said that you can eat what you love and still stay healthy. Sounds too good to be true, I know, but it really is possible. As long as you don’t go overboard and forget about your initial goal in losing weight.
According to the findings of Tufts University, experts believe that the combination of low and high glucose load foods made a big difference in preventing weight gain. They also found that counting calories is not the most effective strategy for long-term weight management.
And that people who consumed more low-fat dairy products increased their consumption of carbs, promoting weight gain. Which comes to the conclusion that over the years people compensated for the lower calories in low-fat dairy by increasing their carb intake.
With this in mind, when consuming the foods we love, we have to do so in moderation, rather than completely cutting out all those high-fat foods and carbs that we can be so afraid of. Cutting out the foods that we love only leaves us unsatisfied with our meals and can lead to eating more to get us feeling full and satisfied.
It’s important to mention though that if you want to get incredibly fit and are more concerned about gaining muscle, or losing weight faster and maintaining that weight it would be best to follow a very strict diet and workout regime.
If you’re in no rush or if you want to lose weight at your own pace, but still in a reasonable period, you don’t have to be so strict with yourself. However, it really depends on you, your preferences, and desired goals.
Realize that weight loss can take time and if you don’t do things at your own pace you are bound to fall off track faster. If you are unable to cut out all the unhealthy foods from your diet, don’t feel discouraged. Enjoy the most delectable foods you love, just remember to keep it in moderation and try not to eat a lot of unhealthy foods consistently.
